The Czech and Slovak Glass Conference has a long tradition, and its aim is to promote cooperation and exchange of knowledge within the glass community. It will present the main directions of glass research and development and provide a platform for communication between glassmakers from academia and industry. The conference will also include a joint programme with the Glass and Ceramics Industry Association to discuss current issues in industry and education.

Dear experts, scientists, entrepreneurs and glass industry enthusiasts,

We cordially invite you to the Czech and Slovak Glass Conference, which will take place from 12 to 14 November 2025 in Trencin at Klub AS Trenčín, Sihoť. The conference will focus on the latest trends, innovations and sustainable solutions in the glass industry.

The main topics of the conference are:

  • Modern technological processes in glass production
  • Recycling and ecological aspects of the glass industry
  • Glass in art, architecture, and design
  • New applications of glass in industry
  • Research and development of innovative glass materials and technologies

Program

The main part of the conference will traditionally consist of invited and contributed lectures by leading experts who will present current research in the field of glass and amorphous materials. There will also be a poster session, which will allow other interested parties to present their research, the problems they are working on, or simply to share their ideas with the wider glass community. The conference language will be English.

In cooperation with the Association of Glass and Ceramic Industry there will be a panel discussion on current topics and challenges of glass manufacturers. 

The General Assembly of the Slovak Glass Society is also part of the conference programme.

Cancellation policy:
Cancellations made after September  15  2025 are subject to a 100 EUR processing fee.
The remaining registration fee will be refunded no earlier than one month after the end of the Conference.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after October  15  2025.

Conference papers 

Papers will be presented in the form of lectures and posters. 

Lectures: the duration of the lecture is 20 minutes. A data projector with a conference PC is provided for the presentation, in case of compatibility problems it is possible to plug in your own computer. Speaker-approved versions of the lectures will be available for download to conference participants after the event.

Abstracts of papers are a mandatory part of registered papers. Abstracts are to be sent by email address saczk@rona.glass  by April 30, 2025.

Publication of papers

The Journal of Glass and Ceramics (Sklář a keramik) has established a publication schedule of two papers per month throughout the calendar year, adhering to the standard peer review process.

Accommodation

Accommodation is not included in the conference fee. Participants are kindly asked to arrange their own accommodation.
